The award committee recognized this study for its novel approach in incorporates an emotional dimension into research on urban walking behavior, setting it apart from conventional self-report surveys. To enhance data reliability, bipolar emotional scales and photo elicitation were employed. Furthermore, by presenting future directions to overcome the limitations of questionnaire-based data, the study demonstrated both creativity and potential for further development in this field, which was highly valued and deemed worthy of this award.
